Other Working Bees

We will post you soon on others to be organised for Home Creek. Labour will be needed for willow clean-up/site clean-up. Chainsaws and trailers will be handy. Dates to be confirmed.

Membership Renewal

It’s that time of year again. You have had your accounts and many of you have been prompt to pay. thank you!
Our mortgage payment to Meridian of 20k is due in November. It will be helpful if those outstanding could pay promptly also.

Committee Site Visit

Recently the committee took a few hours to walk the whole area for which we have responsibility and discuss broadly what we might look to do with the facilities going forward. This encompassed the site from RJ’s Visitor Centre all the way to the downstream Home Creek Boundary. It was a constructive and positive exercise.
From that we met later and established some priorities. Identifying short term must do’s and long term desirable’s, all of this of course subject to budget/funding availability.
Over the next 12 months we want to organise working bees to tidy the Home Creek site including clearing the willows, improve parking and boat ramp (especially with low water launching). Organise additional moorings. Look at providing toilet facilities on site at Home Creek.
We would welcome input from you with any of your ideas. Certainly phone any one on the committee or better still email to Alan or Jo. If you email we have a formal record and it will be followed up on.

RJ’s shed

We seek ideas as to what we might do with the shed. The Committee have some ideas but we want input from the membership as well.
Utilisation of the shed needs to benefit the members in some way, be within Council and Health and Safety Regulations and straight forward to implement and manage. The simpler the better.
Storage has been talked about as has hiring the shed out in its entirety. Your thoughts please?
We have work to do on bird proofing it and the area around it will be tidied up. It has power. There is provision for hot water and a toilet but these need improving. It is secure and dry.

Moorings

The waiting list is actively being worked and getting shorter. However we still have 17 on the waiting list.

Membership ID Stickers

These are issued on membership renewal and will start to be sent out soon. We ask that you also put one on your boat windscreen as well as trailer.
